and most of the newly admitted students who applied for housing were

While the average cost of living for a typical graduate student has

; |% d7 ^5 D% K, Z, ?6 n) x* D3 _admission letter (18000 CAD + 1500 CAD for international students
4 i0 P7 v; l* J% @: w/ w0 x=19500CAD. What I get is something around 1000CAD/month!!! after
) [- y: B5 Z, o' E: ~9 N% |# Y" ~tuition fee and taxes). To make the argument easy to understand just 0 a l* u1 `% O" \
imagine that a new student gets the same amount of money that I am 5 o1 {8 g" V4 C; l
getting now and I was getting 3 years ago but he or she (like all of
0 O3 S8 L/ P0 l2 fus) has to pay twice as much as I was paying for housing when I was
. `! U$ ^9 Z. i$ b) @admitted and has to incur at least 70% more in average living costs.

Alberta has a remarkable record in absorbing various money and grants

students are the main pillars of research work at the university.% H( f6 l1 g/ j- u5 r

My objective in bringing all abovementioned points in your attention
) f: D1 m6 D T( d, L5 zis to question the adequacy of financial aid for graduate and * a2 x' I. o; z: N+ |8 j
especially international students. Isn抰 it time for the GSA to take
3 {# R/ F7 C; O8 ~6 u# f1 ]$ W # k+ U5 l4 O, W1 W# d
initiative in raising the issue of increasing financial aid for : `. D4 q' C4 O8 s
graduate students so that the can afford this increase in costs?! H$ t8 r3 C! q1 j$ M
