曾听说过欧洲的历史就是宗教的历史。在Montreal 主要是看了两个大教堂。

Saint Joseph’s 大教堂 是在1917 年由Brother Andrew 建议开始动工兴建, 1967年最后完成.

Brother Andrew 生前是神学院 Notre-Dame College 的守门员40 年.

在作守门员时, Brother Andrew 传福音,为人们治腿脚病. 因为找他的人越来越多, 1904年 Brother Andrew 在山上开始了这个小Chapel.

And then again in 1910, However, this was still not enough: a larger church in honour of Saint Joseph was needed. In 1917, a new crypt-church was inaugurated that was able to hold over a thousand people.

6 ?. C) _8 V, w' TBrother André devoted his efforts to building the Oratory, which was to become the world’s largest sanctuary dedicated to Saint Joseph.

Montreal 的最后一站是1976 Montreal 奥运会场， 俗称 White elephant. 是世界上花费最高的奥运会场。从1970 开始筹建，到2006年最后付清账单，总开销（包括维修，改造，建筑，利息，通货膨胀）为Canadian $1.61 billion.

By 2006, the amount contributed to the Olympic Installations Board accounted for 8% of the tax revenue earned from cigarette sales. The 1976 special tobacco tax act stipulated that once the stadium was paid off, ownership of the facility would be returned back to the City of Montreal.

: F9 j8 k/ ]& e* [) Y3 z& a% JIn December 2006 the stadium's costs were finally paid in full.The total expenditure (including repairs, renovations, construction, interest, and inflation) amounted to C$1.61 billion. Despite initial plans to complete payment in October 2006, an indoor smoking ban introduced in May 2006 curtailed the revenue gathered by the tobacco tax.

Perceived by many to be a white elephant, the stadium has also been dubbed The Big Owe, Uh-O or The Big Mistake.
