在网上收集了几种译法:供各位参考,希望起到抛砖引玉的作用:
# t6 E0 K" _. W, m2 r% Z* ?% F+ S# y# D. `( ?7 f
1、don"t flip flop (别翻来倒去,朝三暮四)" A5 Q- o0 t8 D; Z+ ^# q& l

4、no dithering(不踌躇)9 R4 J1 S l5 F

8、no self-consuming political movements
3 i2 {! B, L0 W. U3 E9 d u) y F S$ J* t
avoid self-inflicted setbacks (不折腾)
* _6 ~' ?. x0 w; C3 {+ H+ o$ v7 C y( b
原因是:; O% R" e/ s. @1 g* f; C3 E* V1 r' I
- S/ a* v, S$ Q D- r “self-inflicted” has the connotation of creating theunnecessarypain for one self.
+ |, p" |% L1 |+ `7 V% I
" [8 z+ c. b; b! u$ M) d* Y# { 折腾 in Hu"s speech has a strong connotation that such kindofsetback is self-seeking instead of being due to theinterferencefrom outside.
4 P9 R& L* I" Y! w! ~6 A; @0 _' i& U3 I
“Setback” is a much better word than “trouble”, whichanunseasoned translator would like to use in the firstinstance.“Setback” especially refers to the obstacle ordifficultyencountered in achieving a strategic goal. |
