The conservative’s leader NDP held an emergency cuscus meeting last night in Ottawa. It was the first time they've had a chance to talk since the break last week. Lawyers from Araav say government secrecy of the evidence in his case makes it impossible for Araav to testify on his own behave. The inquiry was called last year to investigate the roll Canadian officials played in Araav’s arrest, deportation, and detention in Syria. Araav says he was tortured for the last six months. The inquiry has been heard from government witnesses in secrecy to protect national security. Today, the hearings go public, and Araav’s lawyers argued that without more information Araav testify.
