FUNCTIONS:

The Desktop Support Team Leader is a supervisory/advisory position that is responsible for the support of the City of Edmonton desktop environment, including geographical support City wide:& m+ ]5 I! x# G; w  G1 L

· Supervising a team of technical staff, which will include staff recruitment, setting performance expectations, evaluations, mentoring and coaching.

· Planning, coordinating and allocating staff to ensure effective & efficient support of City desktops.

· Working with other operational areas in maintaining an ever evolving desktop support model.

+ |. \' F1 p$ U2 ?· Ensuring the Desktop Support Area is meeting /exceeding performance expectations defined in Service Level Agreements, by providing essential metrics for performance monitoring.# B/ C! Y2 ]! P

· Performing quality assurance for work performed, in response to customer requests.

· Researching, planning, producing and presenting technical recommendations by formal reports.

· Establishing standards, procedures and documentation for the Desktop Support area.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:7 P3 K  i, w! I

/ @) ~1 z: c  [$ p% T1 P& Z· Degree or Diploma in Computing Science from a C.I.P.S. accredited institution.7 t$ s, A+ l" v& Q1 t, D# U

4 K! C8 ^5 Y" A9 a9 ?· Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible work in systems development that would include supporting a desktop environment./ g; l' q3 a" ~' r0 k+ b

· Experience in supervision, leading,and managing a team of technical experts is essential.
* i, W* W/ c) o9 k* K  a6 I5 U% [6 e. h& o
· Demonstrated expertise in streamlining of processes to improve operational efficiency.

( D$ m, {% d( q  `! y· Strong technical, communication skills (both verbal and written) are required.

· Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, schedule and execute working assignments.

· Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.

· Strong customer focused approach to delivery of service is essential.

HOURS OF WORK:

" E' }6 S- _6 v6 ^9 R* l33.75 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program.

SALARY RANGE:
3 Q! e  k) a! v4 w2 M
+ \: h" [3 M5 @9 D2 X; [9 U21M, Salary Grade: 038, $37.02 - $46.76 (Hourly), $2,498.99 - $3,156.37 (Bi-Weekly), $65,223.51 - $82,381.19 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
