New Program-‘ Tweenie Program’ (Ages 8-12)
Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
% e0 J3 g9 T9 L6 m# z$ J Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
$ a) H& V" P& Q! ~( j Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
! W8 e9 U) i0 S Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
, ]' w$ I. {; G! ]- C: y Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
( J4 j0 K9 ~* `: | Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

, G( E5 ~; x; `
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
7 W. E# ]. y) V( E0 y. r; J Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
, D! e- {8 N+ g- G Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
4 ~& T+ B" D8 \' a( L! K) v9 L Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
" }$ c+ v6 N$ ]" b! Y* Y# o Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
; t9 A* Y5 ~$ r9 e. Y1 a& _. g' NThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
2 G$ k& }+ t" g+ b: I  t; \starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
