In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.

! [2 D g1 X5 }6 pSEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. $ Q( K4 A( P. p O6 f* u9 C
SEDI is staffed to: $ u) O! O( c8 ^) p7 m+ ~4 s
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
2 t2 O- m8 C5 V1 K: L/ o• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners , ~ c: v5 r5 \* G. R* B
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation , t6 `& Q8 t; Q5 }: J
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs * ^. K* x/ }) N+ @5 H
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
- n4 ?& f I4 g8 j9 @• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
2 u3 R" N0 }9 r4 M: W8 K# Y7 N• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
8 Z* K: ^! _1 o6 H! P) n• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
- A l6 Q; M* R# Q• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required 9 r5 w$ s* ]: H
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities 2 c* {) [7 I: C
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team * X% t* v8 q8 z q4 d5 t0 w2 f
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required
' P; f+ i; F* c" F/ ]* fOther Activities:
) E; d; B1 M+ D) @• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
% ^2 W) E" _2 |& V• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
3 j3 H0 `4 G* n. T+ ?: F• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
$ T% n7 q" P# ^" t& l4 W• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports + [6 Q$ Z& `, W: }7 |+ o
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

" F" U( X$ C; f T• Demonstrated group facilitation experience 1 r9 }! X7 R5 V' W% f
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
# v j, L& O4 b( \7 p• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training 8 ^7 ^# ?! _9 I2 r7 g M) Y
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities 4 V7 k+ l" R) @. U" f
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

- x2 `% s3 I% i: A/ {6 ^• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc
$ u& F. J$ d! d5 l2 u: G• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education : e9 u& ` t# ]# k% I- a- R
• Content / curriculum development experience ; F, ?: O) Y; G0 K
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners
' h& ~6 e( U: w4 y1 w& I. z• Excellent organizational skills 8 ^% {7 d3 {" }3 P; n( B
• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.
/ l1 S; {+ w% y• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset

• Marketing and communication experience an asset
