Job Description:
5 h, x) g8 d) A1 q. _• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
" f4 _, G( }4 W• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
- X2 X* b" O8 N• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers e: p+ Q4 q, V1 n8 |* l' l
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams2 y# A% G" Z8 _( x$ d! T9 F8 O
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
6 M$ @" b3 b! h" f• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment3 ? a% R5 L- a5 r
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
. E4 D+ h* l- o3 L1 n• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
6 ?; I9 m: b4 b" \7 D$ W• Mix paint, blend and match colors
' ~# k" L: ?7 D* I; z$ q0 e; d• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
2 D! K% t" {( d3 y( f: R( `• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
0 y, M# z; l) ]5 _• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation* Q+ P8 ? A; a0 j/ u$ d6 `! ~
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling" L4 d) _ t+ A7 W; p, I% l, _2 Z
Education and Experience Requirements:' i6 U. r4 `5 W0 z: T# l
• Completion of secondary school is required
( V, Z$ ^- D- `5 L, |0 f• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
( x" m" q @8 x: h/ ~' i• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
