K( G5 B% Y' Z! y; o- EPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Human Services, the Community Worker will build and maintain relationships and collaborations with ethno-cultural communities. ) x" B- R1 f! ( V9 x4 Q; W; N# t' x' n5 g- Liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for immigrant community
- |3 ^) Q4 F/ [6 b- Plan and coordinate workshops, seminars and activities that give immigrant population access to mainstream services
: o" l$ V9 O+ U r, `2 z! T- Advocate needs that are not met in immigrant community in terms of social services
7 }1 K0 t2 j2 S/ b" \% Z0 m8 Z/ ]- Develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies1 V/ w" _) H3 k! G, K1 ~
- Conduct core activities following the method of I-WIN project (immigrant support group)

- Participate in ISP and agency meetings/activities
& s4 o5 S4 H* ^+ E7 O/ @- Participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

- Explore initiatives for ISP community event

- Work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required) in the south side office of the Centre

- Degree/diploma in social sciences, social work or other human services field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from an accredited institution. Being able to communicate effectively in Chinese to provide linguistically appropriate services! d6 k \% K }* X
- Good oral and written English skills. Another ethnic language will be an asset.

- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and ability to prepare monthly statistical and narrative reports
