There are a couple of different fixes for this depending on what you
" _; B5 z+ ~0 u( j) U' Dhave installed on your system.
1 M- i6 R! S( k; k& p0 x+ X; I q7 T* Y' O$ N
1. If you have Nero, update to the very latest version.
1 l7 O$ Y" c; H( V0 b0 `& `: M ]" n5 u, k) X
2. Unregistering the Ligos codecs (lmpgspl.ax, etc.). To do this, click
# j, J+ e4 P) t3 V7 t4 |9 I0 O) ?on the Start Orb and type "cmd.exe". Then right-click on Cmd and choose
5 k. o( i) n* h1 fRun As Administrator. You will see the cmd prompt. At the prompt, type:1 C+ I' Z, j' t# J" b
+ \; Y( B/ S3 X- i7 j/ aregsvr32 /u lmpgsl.ax [enter]' p$ v3 b# r# q5 V% B- l
, a6 g7 R1 G$ E8 `( T2 ^You'll get a confirmation box saying the unregistration was successful.
8 m2 g5 J# l+ `) sDo this for every codec for which you get the error.

3. If after the unregistering you get an error that the codec can't be+ { u' O! D7 A# E- J
found, log into an account with administrative privileges (you should7 m% W& X( F+ N8 f1 a
create at least one extra account like this for emergencies). Go to
0 ?5 @( L6 r/ a" }Control Panel>Folder Options>View. Set the options to see all hidden$ U; @9 w# s+ B% h' H! o! ?
files. You'll get several *.ini files on the Desktop - ignore them( v" M. i4 S! w+ B, `
because you aren't going to use this account for anything but
9 F7 E% A8 y" O5 O/ `emergencies - or you can go back to Folder Options and hide the! I7 }: U# U. o. G) [4 z3 k
protected files when you're done.5 W. E' Q5 F+ N5 J1 W
/ X$ p7 F/ y! t4 e. wNow go to C:\Windows\System32 and find the .dll for which you got the
. G4 l* ]$ Z9 c+ K7 y5 A0 y/ Ierror. Right-click on it and Rename to (ex.) lmpgsl.ax.bak. Log off and: W |6 z k5 ^# ^! X& @4 ^
go back to your regular account and see if you can play the movie file
