Should we play the National Anthem at the beginnig of   the Party of Chinese Spring Festival ?

3 [7 w0 ]/ ~; @* \1 _9 V3 VRecently,there has sprung up a heated discussion as to whether the National Anthem of China should be played at the begining of the New Year's  Party of Edmonton Chinese at the the website of www.edmontonchina.com.

Some Chinese people in Canada think it is necessary to play National Anthem when they get together especially for the celebration of the New Year , while some Chinese people here  do feel boring to hear the National Anthem in such an occasion.Playing the National Anthem   before a party or meeting  sometimes could be boring.Like me,when I was  in China, I  thought it was really boring before some meeting or in some cases.For instance, if you are at home,you just want to relax yourself ,most people  probably would  prefer to choose  any other channel to watch except a channel with the National Anthem. 'Cause you have heard it so many times.

$ ~+ H" t' p0 u% p1 C" y# gBut in Canada,I think it is good to remind ourselves something important,even for children's education.For people live abroad,the further they leave away from their mother country, the deeper they feel they love their motherland.There are still some Chinese people oversea deny they are Chinese .They dare not to admit they are from China.What a shame to have such Chinese People!I do believe in that , every people will look down him if he feels shame to tell people where he comes from.Nobody is supposed to trust people like that. I know many Canadian People who like to tell me,his father comes from Germany and his mother is an Irish and things like that.Fortunately , most people who don't like to play National Anthem before the  party  do love their own country.

Now,how about the Spring Festival Party?Should we play National Anthem at the begining of  the Party of Chinese Spring Festival ?What is your opinion?
( A& J! K4 k1 V/ \1 F) B9 zDon't be afraid to say no if you really don't like it.Just like 放风儿 and 向阳花，personally,I appreciate their courage  and I guess I could understand them.

It is a shame that some people are denying they are Chinese. They have rights and reasons to not like a party, a government, a political system, but can anyone change their root? Normal people, who have hearts and right minds, would love the land they were born in, feel proud of their own roots running in their blood, and maintain the culture they have been brought up in… We are born Chinese—Chinese is our nationality, our race, our ethnic.

I don’t know about Canada, but in the US, whenever people fill out any government forms, there is an item involved in the race. I may be an American, but I still need to identify myself as an Asian American or Chinese American!  If it is the case in Canada, I wonder whether those people who don’t want to be “Chinese” any more, would just fill out and identify themselves as “WHITE”?????????????? as Japanese???????????? They may have a change of heart, they may even have a surgery to change their looks, but how can they change their own blood?

: S! K" t! Q0 S! w  INational Anthem and Flag are ways to remind ourselves of our own root and our mother land. We may not feel a lot when we were still living on that land, but as we are far away from it, the Anthem, the Flag are really becoming the symbol of our country—through them we feel we are again connect to our home, our love, our old friends, our family… all of which we miss so much everyday abroad, and for the same reason, we, Chinese, would unite—gather together, feel close to one another and help each other!

5 P1 V) [% S3 u2 e- q( ]! xAlmost everyone wants to know and keep their own roots. Those who deny theirs, will not only be abandoned by their own people, but also be disrespected and laughed at by other races!!!
