据美联社7月12日报道，由于不堪信贷紧缩、房价暴跌、止赎上升等多重打压，美国IndyMac Bank Inc.星期五(11日)遭受被联邦监管机构关闭的厄运，成为受美国抵押贷款市场危机影响而破产的最大储蓄银行，同时也是美国有史以来第二大遭关闭的金融机构。

7 n- R5 k% a4 Y# e7 U  ^　　美国联邦监管机构当天将IndyMac的资产予以查封。美国储蓄管理局(Office of Thrift Supervision)在一则声明中表示，由于监管当局认为IndyMac已经无法满足存款者的要求，其已经将IndyMac的业务运营转交给联邦存款保险公司(Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation)。IndyMac因此成为今年以来第五家破产的美国银行。
