原因是：5 `# q* [- ~" v
3 k, f4 e' I6 M- Y “self-inflicted” has the connotation of creating theunnecessarypain for one self.

折腾 in Hu"s speech has a strong connotation that such kindofsetback is self-seeking instead of being due to theinterferencefrom outside.* {& i( p; u/ M- m0 B. [' {
" S8 S) W+ k3 L/ e1 ^- g( k$ V; F; w “Setback” is a much better word than “trouble”, whichanunseasoned translator would like to use in the firstinstance.“Setback” especially refers to the obstacle ordifficultyencountered in achieving a strategic goal. |
