/ r8 h) W' A/ e; B3 k$ T          In London the Queen delivered the speech from the throne this morning outlining Prime Minister Tony Blair’s plans through the new parliamentary session. Later today she’ll leave for a visit to Canada. The Queen will be touring Alberta and Saskchewan to celebrate the two western provinces centennials. The CBC’s B.S reports on preparation for a prairie welcome.
          Last minute rehearsals for a small town high school band, hoping to hit right note for a royal audience later this week, and there is no doubt royal fever is gripping this valley community, North of Regina. F. Barber is Lambsden’s mayor “ During my lifetime I have seen it’s the biggest thing that ever happen”. For others, it is a nervous time. Seven years old Emile Taylor will present the Queen with flowers when she arrives “ I had this dream when I was curtsying. I tripped on and I fell.”
At the legislature, the barricades are going up and the red carpet is being rolled out. Still Premier L.Calvert says the prospect of hosting the Queen for a lunch is well, daunting. “We are familiar with putting on lunch for two kids, not for members of the Royal.”
But across the province, people are polishing the silver waer and practicing their P’s and Q’s. “This is the suite her royal highness is going to stay at”. At the hotel where the Queen will stay, the paint is drying and finishing touch are underway to prepare for the royal stay. Hotel manager M.P “ There is lots of pressure. There is lots, lots of pressure.”
Down stairs in the kitchen, staff are working non stop to prepare meals fit for the Queen. G.Goban is the Hotel Saskchewan’s pastry chef “ Not every day that you make a meal for the Queen of England.”
