Program Overview:

& ~6 e8 F* W% \0 [! c# aIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
3 u+ `9 C$ ~) `1 v2 O$ X* ~; zskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
+ d7 g9 {4 Q% P# F) O3 `experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

Candidate Profile:

7 H. O7 Z7 U2 m2 `Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
: _1 d) ?3 ?$ D*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
, x2 G) z0 H' L- d6 }secondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
7 P$ S% e+ t: ]8 B3 u3 e*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
. i: ?2 u% Q% b, U*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

) M' J3 L1 {( K# @; B                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
# o7 o+ R. T$ b! K, {5 j        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
- K  |, A% }, T" c6 D2 l  ^        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
2 N  b$ ]( C; Z! m4 f1 t, B        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
* C' N- b2 O( R8 |1 ~$ N        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
  \! H% c: \% Q7 N        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
. e6 r9 l; p  Q4 P& d                        *        1 month work-experience placement

Class Schedule and Location:

        *        Monday to Friday

        *        All classes are held at The Path to Employment, 10211 - 97

Students may be eligible for tuition and living expenses from Student
