To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:+ h" L% v& v: i# y0 x6 k
, f- I/ S# w8 \+ a( |- Z
have at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician 6 E9 F; {6 Y/ T1 S
Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.

1 t: S) x7 Z: G2 o/ ucomplete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office0 R8 o a" l% U) i" J8 m

pay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above 0 b3 x# p+ x% i+ z# n" x r
This application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
