面对UBC和Alberta的录取通知书,我该选择谁?

我申请的5所大学都录取了.现在最拿不定主意的就是UBC和Alberta了.我知道UBC是名校,对毕业后的去向肯定有好处,而且学校还给我2500加元的奖学金.但是我听说那儿的竞争太激烈而且淘汰率很高,所以我有点害怕.到底去哪个好呢?
还有,在国外转学是不是很方便?要经过哪些步骤啊?

要是我的话，我就选择。。。。。困难啊！呵呵！看你自己怎么想了。

国外转学很容易，向学校发个申请，然后把相关的课程描述通过学校发过去就可以了

but the scholarship of UA is less than $2000, RA are different from departments, in our department, RA or TA is $1200. deduct tuition about $500($6500 per year for an international student), only $700 left. So I think scholarship of UBC is high.

也看是什么专业。UA 好多专业并不比UBC差。
MACLEAN排名，两者差一名。UBC第五，UA第六。不过，UA是上升趋势，UBC则是有一些下降。

不知道是不是上本科. 我听说 UA 的本科比 UBC 要好.
如果是研究生, 专业水平要比学校名气更重要. 你可以上网查一查. 去两个学校录取你的系的网页看一看.

UBC的知名度在国内还是这里都是蛮高的，但是进UBC必须要通过一个LPI的考试，听说这个考试有些难度，有些本地人都考不出来的。
ALberta也蛮好的，和UBC一样都是综合性的大学，但是这边气候生活环境没温哥华好，但是生活费便宜。
呵呵，最后还是要楼主自己决定拉，毕竟这是大事嘛。^^

我现在又有新的问题了.我当时申请学校一律申请的心理学专业,因为我觉得适合我.但是今天有个师兄突然告诉我他请教一个心理学老师那个老师告诉他不要学这个,因为没前途.我吓了一跳,想问问大家是不是真的这样啊?
还有,我的ubc录的是arts里的心理学,我想问问arts和science具体有什么区别,arts是不是象有些人说的一样很垃圾啊?

我听说上了大一之后可以转专业. 你可以到网上的学生手册中去查一查再确定一下.

具体我也不是很清楚，我有一个同学考过一次，确实有难度，因为它不像TOEFL全是选择题，LPI里面有阅读文章回答问题，就像语文考试一样的，我同学告诉我，有些语法题本地人都做不出来。呵呵，不过我也是道听途说，因为我也没考过拉。^^

We are real brothers. I was also accepted by UBC. Faculty of Science. Indeed, I want to go to UBC, but I decide to stay at University of Alberta due to my girlfriend. If I went to UBC, I would learn Commerce. If I stayed in Edmonton, I would study Petrolum Engineering. I also took the LPI exam in here before, and I felt it was not difficult although I got 3 out of 6. First part is Grammer. 20 marks. It is harder than TOEFL. The second part is reading comprehension, given you some articles and you will answer the question about the details, the third part is giving you some articles and write the summary. The last section is essay. They give you three topics, and you can choose one of them which you are familar with. The total exam time is 2.5 hours, and I think everyone have enough time to brianstorm and write because there is no pause during the test. You will be fine if your sentence structure and grammar in essay is not a problem. Remember, when you write this essay , please do not follow the rule of TOEFL. IF you do, low marks.

Above all are just my suggestions, you still have chance to choose. Actually, I am in the hard situation as same as you. UBC or U of A. Feel free, we can talk a little bit more by emailing me Li2apple@hotmail.com

aritificial intelligence is very strong in alberta. the cs department got a couple of professors world famous in artificial intelligent field.
