I suggest that you pick up a booklet from university of Alberta's administration office. Then you will know clearly about what the difference between arts and science. In arts, there are lots of majors you will be interested.

By the way, as a first year undergraduate student, you do not need to worry about which faculty you are in. You can take any courses in arts as same as science, and then you can choose your major and minor in second year. Chinese students usually do not not know what they will study, that is very common. So I think you should get into the university first, then consider which major you will learn. It is better focus on your present business first such as pass toefl or study english well. If your English is not good enough , especially listening, I recommend you do not hush to U of A. English is very important for all of us.
