Beginning in 1995, ETIP:

an engineer or engineering technologist in Alberta:

difficult to integrate into the Alberta workforce. Some employers may not

What is the practice?

experience and competency-based training, such as applied academics or

The training components of ETIP assist participants in developing skills

Canadian workforce.

+ i" n' z2 O0 ~9 `As of 2003, more than 80% of ETIP graduates over the past six years have& ]. n- w5 q# }; B) `9 y# |
found engineering or engineering technologist employment in Alberta.
" H7 m8 z, w, V$ O7 v9 BIn 2004, 46 engineers graduated from the ETIP program. At the time of) d" K% h8 E7 u: m
graduation, almost half had secured employment in the engineering industry,
$ f- A- M7 X+ r& O3 A! Swith over 90% employed at three months post-graduation.2 \ X' L6 u% p
