SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. + n; V' c, O( h! u
SEDI is staffed to:

5 N5 d( k$ i1 @7 V$ B* n* C e• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
9 G3 G, {7 l' D3 n" A• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
9 W' L; D" w% v a' C6 \9 N& L. K& }• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs & S! [; ^, B$ j5 }' v6 R
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
r/ W' C# R a3 f6 M5 S3 T• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
# z& n2 @$ r; P• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada % w- s+ ^' E/ `2 f4 J6 I B
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
9 n) b' f1 M1 [; G, Y5 y' e- ~• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required ! m# w0 |& A+ t3 L" Y& J
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
. t. [# y. e; ~6 s8 H! k* c• Working with evaluation and management information systems team ; ]9 O0 c3 v6 q. o( Q! n2 o+ i
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required 5 l' m& N- p4 V/ I& y- l

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
2 ?4 ^# L( c2 j9 ?# _2 z: d• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
' Y% d* j- J' O2 s q• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
, X$ ]8 e2 p. B" V5 f- ?. t2 G• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
9 s; D; l$ n& ~0 _4 ?• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning / p0 ~& P, X5 q% ~# I
Primary Qualifications:
, B( C0 u& A6 v2 O• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
7 g: K5 J+ g" P$ k' H. L• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media " }3 [7 \# c4 S. q, Y/ |! a& `
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
) Q4 I* j/ g" i/ w' A• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
: k$ f) i( N3 @% T7 P8 P8 L• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams 0 T: T& @: {# ~& n
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals

• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
9 G: E, T4 F1 t6 p• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc
; T. H' H( o" a- H. D• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education

• Policy research skill set is an asset
