T.A.N.G. Youth Program is an educational and activity-based program aiming to equip
( V% A, m0 Z A1 |9 I3 pAsian youth to make healthy and safe choice. Recreational challenges, volunteering / I0 M3 t1 Z6 p: _7 V7 j
opportunities, leadership training, as well as educational sessions on : u" s, e8 F { j2 F
interpersonal skills, anger management, personal development, , H" D* Z" K! `! [4 z
and Canadian-Asian culture are some of the ways in which this goal is achieved.( g H, |& P: v8 u, ]# c ]

Each session presents concepts through interactive activities that encourage active discussion and participation.; u0 I: D" Y$ F' M% c8 U

 Explore personal interests in arts and recreation

Regular Spring and Fall Group Sessions: runs on alternate Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.! [" o$ T5 E+ l2 K4 k! l2 b
Summer Group Sessions: 2 consecutive weeks in July from 9 to 5 p.m. daily
$ l8 V( m' T7 Q* ~$ F* F 2 consecutive weeks in August from 9 to 5 p.m. daily

Who can participate?, a" _4 x1 `3 O4 I
Asian youth aged 11 to 15, who are new immigrants or locally born Asian living in Edmonton or surrounding area.$ ^8 [1 L2 @( t0 o/ m* H

What is the cost of joining the T.A.N.G. program?$ |4 T. ^: B9 ^" p
It is FREE and space is limited to 15 to 20 participants per group." I2 X+ o7 H& c1 {7 R0 K# `4 v

/ P' X: T' a# Z8 v% m& a Distribute promotional flyers to schools, churches, communities and social services agencies 3 G2 E2 i- V4 W& H
 Facilitate and/or coordinate activity-based function such as to host a gym day or sport tournaments or workshop on personal growth development
' E7 _2 t0 H0 u$ z* k" Q) s Facilitate or assist in ice-breakers and/or other activities
3 n& S D) U; Z& V8 ^ Facilitate or assist in small group discussions
9 J0 V; i/ v- r3 I F/ t. | Research activities related to the sessions’ topic
: m- T. _; a- q5 d- J6 W# ] Enforce safety rules during program sessions and fieldtrips: \; c4 r- r! q/ N, j5 A

 On-going volunteers (we have volunteers dedicated themselves to the program for almost 4 years)
1 h2 p$ E5 R% X. P One time volunteers: minimum commitment is one seasonal session, i.e. 8 – 10 sessions in Spring, Fall or Summer
