Job Description:
" {* J. b9 T7 C2 H/ q• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
1 {- m7 y* c! [8 x4 a• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
9 d. @! O; F) l• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
8 ]; N5 W+ N2 \) d• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams5 v. t8 ]% y; A" g8 e& D
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place9 `: N+ D( ] f2 |+ v
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment- w% o4 m& e5 D/ \
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
5 F @ p. n& R/ i! W• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting3 l# w; ]' F3 ^# W8 `
• Mix paint, blend and match colors5 ^ b8 _2 R0 X% n4 ^
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
) U( U/ N% e4 s: y• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
4 q$ y& t& J5 x4 @8 b; V• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation0 n' p3 e0 P4 B/ A' ?
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

• Completion of secondary school is required, ]( Y1 z0 D1 J& y0 X, Y* A
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program 6 V4 B C* U, S' s
or
0 y" K! B, W% B" S1 RA combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade 6 n# B- w9 [$ r! e& p
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
