Career Edge Organization is currently looking for help to fill a great internship opportunity for a Letter of Credit Officer with Scotiabank located in Calgary.

Mandatory Qualifications:
( R" ?6 G: X" ~  A1 o
•        Several years of practical experience in Trade Finance activities

•        Thorough and complete knowledge of the Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits, the Bills of Exchange Act, INCOTERMS, world shipping practices, and Canadian / Foreign customs
( l% T1 r6 L7 m2 _; C% l; Z  Z
3 U2 C5 M' Q- O( t5 Q  F3 F0 `* W•        Strong knowledge of statutory requirements, International Law and Customs relating to Letters of Credit and Bank policy as high level transactional support to customers is required

•        Capable of applying knowledge in accurately assessing / mitigating transaction and compliance risks and making judgemental decisions on problem transactions

•        Comfortable working in an environment involving significant risk exposure to the Bank.

& L. @" \3 Y. N+ L' ^- `•        Possess an ability to evaluate high risk, complex transactions and make recommendations to the Senior Assistant Manager to minimize and or mitigate potential losses to the Bank and its customers.

•        have at least 3 years of international work experience in their field

1 Z: S( I/ c& h3 A; q; c" Z9 Y4 a•        have been in Canada for less than 3 years
1 z5 c- }* c( r" J: W! _7 |•        are legally able to work in Canada
