The Administrative assistant typically is the hub of the school office. You where things are, how to get things done and who can help with particular tasks and projects. You disseminate information to parents, staff and students, process fiscal information, ensure compliance with legal and financial requirements, schedule meetings, maintain records and monitor department and program activities.( J! _7 g6 a: E1 k, P4 j
You are often the go-to person for many tasks and is relied on heavily by others. As a result, you must be adept at dealing with and accommodating a variety of people and personality types – parents, children, teachers, volunteers, education director, board members, and, of course, the principal.

 Perform various computer, word processing, Excel, PowerPoint typing responsibilities and written communication skills, such as: forms, school programs, correspondence, student handbooks, school communication, newsletters, schedules and a variety of reports: N- z3 P5 S% z0 x5 e6 m$ u
 Complete purchase orders for office and school supplies for authorization, check orders received, and maintain an inventory of office supplies.
- w! O$ g! T. X V! ^ Perform office duties such as payroll preparation, Schedule Casino/Bingo volunteers, prepare letters/reports/documents for the Casino/Bingo license, mail distribution, collating, filing, recording, sorting, duplicating, faxing, laminating1 K- {: k$ k8 y! z# g% a
 Operate computer-based programs for accounting, student and personnel information. 8 v }9 K1 m, {$ w
 Perform the financial functions required to maintain school financial records. This can include petty cash distribution, record keeping, bank transfers and transmittals, and maintain an accurate record of accounts payable and cash flow activity

 Deal tactfully with staff, students, parents and the public

 Distribute textbooks and order textbook printing

 Required Education, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
9 V1 [7 x1 }& t A minimum of Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
+ @* X$ c6 i" |, E9 t# x E A minimum of two years office or administrative assistant experience or a minimum one year of Office Administration training at a recognized institution of Education, would be a definite asset
& s% R9 h9 I9 t7 q Excellent verbal and written communication skills in business English and Chinese
1 S1 X! E c) \7 u Knowledge of basic accounting practices. 2 ?/ {0 Q# i& I
 Demonstrated knowledge in the operation of office equipment, such as the following: telephone, photocopier, fax, computer, printer, laminator.
% h0 s) n e8 ]4 q3 w Demonstrated knowledge of office methods and procedures used in maintaining an office.
/ [: i! y' r+ Y Proficiency in the operation of computers, word processing applications and additional software comparable to those currently used in the school
