Alberta Innovates – Technology Futures (AITF) is part of Alberta’s research and innovation system and is helping build healthy, sustainable businesses in the province. Through a suite of programs and services for entrepreneurs, companies, researchers and investors, AITF provides technical services and funding support to facilitate the commercialization of technologies, to develop new knowledge-based industry clusters and to encourage an entrepreneurial-based culture in Alberta.
) y/ L5 ?- w( e2 o8 x# H5 V& JDivision/Portfolio Overview        The Fuels and Lubricants group delivers a full range of services for petroleum products. We routinely perform petroleum analyses to Canadian (CGSB), American (ASTM), and international (ISO) specifications, and provide consultation and problem solving support on a range of issues, from specific problems to comprehensive systems. We are actively involved with development of new and innovative techniques to solve current and future analytical problems.

Position Overview        We require 3 entry level chemical technologist to be part of our project team. Main responsibilities include a variety of general laboratory operations including analyzing petroleum samples, maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment, sample disposal, computer entry of sample data, assisting senior technologists and other general laboratory duties.
& E9 X) c8 ~" f1 s/ URequirements        Candidates should have a diploma in Chemical Technology and previous work experience in an analytical laboratory environment would be an asset. Familiarity with petroleum related laboratory equipment and basic computer knowledge is preferred. Knowledge of ASTM test methods would be an asset. You must have strong communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Compensation        The technologist positions are included in the bargaining unit. AITF offers a competitive salary and benefits package in addition to opportunities for personal and professional achievement. Final candidate will be required to undergo a security clearance.
