Clarica was introduced in 1999 by Mutual life of Canada, and was acquired by Sun Life three years later.
4 ?+ _9 E# h, H& s" b) ]There are almost two million Clarica policy- and accountholders in Canada, said Sun Life. Clarica also has a sales force of about 3,500.

3 r; `" T. y" z( A% WThe company said the changes will be completed by the first quarter of 2008. Sun Life will incur a $40-million to $50-million charge in the first quarter of 2007.4 n4 T6 z2 j5 M# w% E- k
