Position title: Community Development Worker
; H' w* |& ?* x- n0 x% Z, \Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
3 z- B4 a- O6 m7 z5 S' F9 J        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
) P- q6 V! L) `3 g/ W: J-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
  u! m% E& p0 F7 z- y        social services
& e% q4 m7 u. J' y6 L9 ^-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
3 e; O1 L- p" m: ^+ _0 {; f-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
7 I: \7 T( }7 ]/ g-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

: f3 F1 `$ T9 h+ v0 U+ \+ V) uQualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
! N2 u0 j' B4 h; u# G' b* I-        experience in website update/design
0 E% ]6 w$ `$ F+ I# K  o-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
