FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
+ J( I" ]' x% b, j+ R6 w& z( Bsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
. ]* y: W! \* x8 Ssupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

+ M1 d" \! {. ~% r. |5 w+ zFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
+ Q' o( C# ?0 D4 y' J6 Q, Aemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
* c' t& q1 T5 N) RAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
( O+ i5 L: Z5 A% Y5 h* e3 bFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

9 l; H" V9 B6 y  |* F, ?- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

6 J& j) Q' a" i* t6 p- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
0 S) }$ O3 X( _: ~. |* b; C  u& S% J- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

, X% b, i5 h( ]( V( R1 |- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
( j4 @% [4 g$ Q/ V7 v" Y$ V# q- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
4 K2 c' J8 c* j- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
