Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special . U- e' P z2 E3 V7 `% S
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: 9 f! t8 d" t; u2 ^

Duties: Special Events
$ l- W! n/ i' q1 \- n9 ]' X' sPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
4 Y2 g: A% e8 F- M- [, _2 Q8 M9 d' P· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee ; h4 D' A' K& F8 S, h
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 8 z" Z4 N' Y9 b. e1 ]- k
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 8 o$ G, r$ K; a: Q. V3 T5 C- Z0 [
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure ! S1 y5 s- P! R
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. u& ]2 m. F+ _: J9 C/ }
· Attend and manage Special Events - U; M3 t( e4 [
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
; w/ P2 z+ d9 h& Z1 w9 GAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: % n! d' W& y* S! h Q! E
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
3 _( J4 @4 r2 r, ~1 a' O6 R· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers ' E& a+ O, ^* c. m5 \' h7 S+ ]+ v
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers + \( f. @) w+ W4 E1 S; ?
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
! l# b" r" @/ M. `& G/ \· Complete program administration, statistics and records 1 m4 E# Q7 O! V- l/ s
# i! i) F/ _3 d+ rQualifications:
% B9 V8 @% ~% Q7 b- U b· Completion of 12th1 s$ t" M) R' Q! K7 n6 O7 `$ _0 B: C3 A6 `
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
& \2 j9 D' H% R+ pAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
L5 t5 p9 k9 i: l· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
* z7 D, m$ ]0 s3 w( dexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
3 j2 } f N' e) e· Experience working with and managing volunteers ; h2 b. {9 L* r& O W' y2 ]
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
) x, X* X% E: S! e· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events 7 A! X' R* E4 |% p; x
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
9 B6 u7 i9 R. u2 }" x# s· Security Clearance 4 D% c' [4 u- j4 ~1 x# g0 c

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

3-month probation to start
