Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
. i% u2 G, v. q/ b5 J# O-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
- i. y% F* C' A" z3 J-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
9 ?# o5 h  c- g9 p: }. \2 Q) @0 y-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
1 i3 U* T! X  k4 L8 j) O; Y-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
# {- ?! E6 Z- @% j- C7 ?6 V-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
1 c- [& O8 V2 }-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
8 C  Z# T/ x( J0 ~; X7 J$ ~. `-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
$ ?3 M: ~; }+ y1 Z" b-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
/ S' `$ U4 a4 K9 _-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
