FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

$ I9 V3 n) T* A- Zand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a - Y' V9 b8 B0 M9 i# q
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and / ]9 c; P; Q! D" L$ f
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern - z- v$ |: a5 h& }, O- G3 F

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 0 A8 g( W: u. [' [0 j
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 4 ?- ?) a; k3 K- l% q/ [: A. s7 I
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
& z& N6 i2 A$ h* y ) E) M; @" L5 X( ]) T) k
Duties: % G# r! P, }' n, {4 r
- Assist with research on acquisition grants 5 k/ T Q/ o3 \7 ^
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
; S& s2 |4 c1 \3 I- Assist with equipment maintenance 3 T, G1 W4 @$ x, l/ {
- Assist with production logistics for programming events ' f @- E H4 M9 Q8 w9 H
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ?; {4 m! z# e) n. T1 w
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment * r" }& B* x5 c- u e
- Advance organizational and research skills ) R( ^/ J0 Y" E+ X1 W! \
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
