FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
% L- A3 P3 ?& h4 rsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
0 O! C8 [+ x9 iemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
2 }& n, ]2 {3 n5 R3 land media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
: m- Q$ n) b6 o( `6 Q; b' P/ Pscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
+ H) A3 Z( s: }+ jwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
* p) y% O6 k% i, Q- a0 w- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
, _; c+ y- W% k+ }, _; j- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
) b) E5 d& S: h' y- K9 J- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
/ S- M) w- S/ ]. S) u' |9 Esecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
+ u. R3 g) J6 p" e& J- Strong organizational skills
" j) C6 X& K1 g- h2 U- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities

I have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
