FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 8 z* s B* D ^5 R$ o1 I( }2 J& g
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
% L- A3 P3 ?& h4 rsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern * I$ G+ I" k/ i* m
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
0 O! C8 [+ x9 iemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
2 }& n, ]2 {3 n5 R3 land media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a / M& j8 m2 F" x' n
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
: m- Q$ n) b6 o( `6 Q; b' P/ Pscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern - V- h% h+ A/ R+ p& _
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the * p; n# b0 T' d( T
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
+ H) A3 Z( s: }+ jwell as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
* p) y% O6 k% i, Q- a0 w- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
, _; c+ y- W% k+ }, _; j- Implement a catalogue template for future use 4 H: R# X+ r; f# F6 I5 ~% }( \$ Y5 T
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ; f* p; ?7 [' d* I% T4 E
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 4 ?" ?# h6 g* c2 t: _

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 8 V3 ]0 H% }+ x% W: K

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: # t! p7 |! z& E& Z
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
+ u. R3 g) J6 p" e& J- Strong organizational skills
" j) C6 X& K1 g- h2 U- Experience or training in library sciences preferred ) c1 l' t! n9 X4 O2 ^ N
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal ) Y( k) C C3 |( q, m& H) s& `# y
- Strong team player abilities
