Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special + c& y( b- _6 c) I7 C2 o3 z
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: 4 ]. u0 ~+ r Q2 }# S% ~

Duties: Special Events " ?5 z1 j3 E) R) r! Y" k3 l+ _
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
% |; ~/ Q, W! a9 l- a7 s· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
9 r) n' [9 {4 T" h· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
5 y" R4 E, K5 p9 B$ ^7 l( mwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the . P: f: T$ o5 x7 u
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure m7 t5 T N$ r
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. / U8 l/ \$ C4 v3 h! E( S
· Attend and manage Special Events ( I) S+ U$ a9 d3 j7 e
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee
) W% C! j/ q" ~' C% B4 u 8 o m2 v3 z$ k2 f
Duties: Volunteer Coordination $ e+ Y5 q. e# }& \* P2 q
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
! I5 Y" R8 [; j· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions ! E+ {. G2 C' u6 e/ o+ U R2 t' A
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
* z# v5 }& e9 E3 L. |9 m8 {· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers 8 g( m( ]. ^% p1 L* M" b$ _3 x
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 9 t, D2 a6 @/ a1 H: `2 Q4 o
· Complete program administration, statistics and records
4 X% T& B9 L0 n/ v! Q: E; l, e, o
* d1 y6 q c/ g4 UQualifications: 9 W4 g. h8 f) x% d, k
· Completion of 12th
6 ^; I3 ]( F: d* x3 v' R Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation & M% D/ _3 R$ H H7 ^0 J
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. " x5 E9 x! j( v2 j8 m+ ^
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct - b4 Y! C- ^8 [$ H0 W" P
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
9 J; F4 I. c) v3 P1 Q· Experience working with and managing volunteers 1 Y+ s( j. |0 Z8 K0 b
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors & L9 _$ d- J5 c8 O& L4 ?( }
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
. ?' E* A/ S4 X! Q( @· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
