Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special `6 {# Z( w% K) d: {" G" k1 {6 z
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties: Special Events 8 W: \2 m: z2 Z
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
; t. c0 t6 V, o, H. h· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 5 t' l7 n/ g. L8 x, H
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 2 n6 n8 p$ X% ~2 Z$ } g: n+ m
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
8 |( Y8 O( b" h- V* y5 h% ladvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
- ]# x8 K+ O& A% K- \! `$ [set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. ' o4 U* g- Y: \: v4 e2 P
· Attend and manage Special Events

Duties: Volunteer Coordination 5 L7 U; v' S, C
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: s3 h. G. p# Q! J9 _
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
; r$ K, T" b: o5 e* ^- G& i· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
- Z; t& r+ m; Q7 d% Y· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers " b) x$ j& f3 {
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers - s/ R v( F# J, c( \/ I. C- X7 R9 X
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

" A ?# p. ^6 c \) AQualifications: ) S/ d! C8 i$ ?7 [. ^
· Completion of 12th
$ z- o+ l0 _9 u8 d: ^' W3 \ Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation + @- m# y' t B; k1 G! f6 k+ L" x
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
$ L- O z$ B& q" ~! |7 ]· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct ! Y/ ~; M6 L p9 Y! r$ m7 L& V
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
5 A# f; Y6 O" r+ E: e· Experience working with and managing volunteers 3 j+ v3 N' F8 X$ {/ b9 o1 E
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
+ N, h2 E4 p0 V0 a9 T% X6 u( B· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events 6 A3 v& c5 l0 x) N+ q
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

7 i5 {' d5 L( pHours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
