6 b( I0 S4 S& k: T1 ECHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.$ ^8 \4 v# h$ I1 m! O3 C3 |

• Complete data entry in various programs.

: @# B3 V" N+ @) M# ^, N! r• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

, K; p3 |: U. V% X• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual., d- S) s, Z' X. C2 i  R

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.% ]6 M4 G) m3 `" ^$ y6 T

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management./ l& i3 C, [/ [5 t2 i

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.0 E! ]+ u, F. T; e

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.5 J1 v+ p4 J4 G; T2 L1 X

• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.8 I/ [) z) y* ~5 }+ `2 Q- Y

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs., s' c/ h9 g4 [, t7 d$ r3 }

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.$ i3 G7 g- f6 \. }9 i

Fund Development, k; T* @1 G$ {# A( T: Q! b8 B  J

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions. A/ D- g5 @! ^: c. G

$ z) v7 n) C6 C% ~2 P( r• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.% k) w& [+ ]) I- H/ l) Q' T

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

8 E; D; O3 j+ J& z  h& Y• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

" |! @$ j& I) f1 F  z. oSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.% s) Q& ]% v2 x' C- M7 w( |+ y6 M

Spanish language abilities are an asset.

Term:

Starting salary is $18/ hour with benefits to be negotiated upon hire. Position will commence on November 01, 2009.
