I" ?2 O, b9 g/ DThe Area Team Leader for the 2009 Christmas Kettle Campaign is a short term, contract worker that plays an integral role in The Salvation Army’s Public Relations and Development Department in Edmonton.  Individuals are responsible for the general oversight of multiple Christmas Kettles in one geographic area.  This includes recruiting, scheduling, and supervising volunteers; liaising with location contacts; and working as a team with the City Coordinator and Assistant City Coordinator.

Duties and Responsibilities:

§         Recruit and schedule volunteers in a designated area

§         Liaise daily with team members and businesses

§         Track of and submit paperwork as required, including timesheets and expense reports

§         Complete a Final Report for the area and submit it on time

6 u1 L# R, Y" Q' v  L1 i' Q5 X' f1 h§         Follow a schedule and timetable as set out

§         Assist with other duties as assigned

Qualifications

    * Preference will be given to those graduated from or currently enrolled in Volunteer Management,  
" H7 ]/ @9 Z3 r. Z2 l; r( f3 t* R    * Business Administration, or Human Resources.  Relevant experience will be considered.
) q. l3 ~( I5 u( b3 z& N1 s0 }    * Excellent communication and organizational skills
    * Capable of supervising and coaching volunteers and employees
1 i' l0 J: c3 x    * Can work well individually and as a team player
    * Ability to make quick decisions accurately
; [4 u/ z8 v  U. f- L8 j6 o    * Capacity to retain large amounts of information

Terms of Employment
! m/ i: x- V# A1 \# g' W
§         Work Monday to Saturday (4:30 pm – 9:30 pm), from November 16 until Dec 24, 2009

§         Compensation is $12/hr

  }! H7 ~; _' ]9 F$ j) H1 N§         Must have access to a personal vehicle

§         Mileage will be reimbursed at $0.40 per kilometer
