Position: Community Youth Coordinator, Challenge by Choice Program / Terms: .5 FTE. 18 hours per week - Contract 2 years & hours negotiable / Closing Date: Open until suitable candidate is found.

# W1 j, t" i" f1 c1 EAbstract: reporting to the Programs Manager the Community Youth Coordinator will be responsible for taking the leadership role in the development and delivery of social recreational and educational programming that will be offered by the Challenge by Choice Program for young adults 16-25 who are living with a mental illness. Demonstrated effectiveness in working with a collaborative multi-agency, multi-disciplinary service delivery model is required.  

# I/ F% j7 Y8 w$ r) b8 }* JKey Qualifications: a relevant post-secondary human services degree in Recreation Therapy, Social Work or related degree; direct experience working in mental health services; knowledge and experience working with youth living with mental illness; proven experience in community capacity building; able to work flexible hours; Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ready access to a reliable vehicle.

3 z% l  s" ]+ R# D3 e: f/ e, z2 E1 sPLUS: excellent time management skills; excellent organizational skills; experience coordinating & implementing social/recreation programs; knowledge & experience in program development, evaluation & research; excellent written and oral communication skills; awareness of risk management issues; current First Aid; able to provide current, clear criminal record check and child abuse registry clearance; registration with professional body.
