This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.( K3 s& s5 L. _, T* Z6 X6 T( b; u
Eligibility Criteria
! ^; e" V2 E4 W E4 f8 n" pAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
& b! w" c3 ~( J•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
' m4 f. J4 G$ |. J7 {( ~6 f* O•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
$ ~, h& r/ Z) m# }: E9 _" N•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English% T5 E, _ D) O
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
$ R5 w. e0 |6 L& U5 ^4 ^; _. v•No prior Canadian work experience in their field$ z& F. B; M4 \; t; B2 C
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less3 v' t1 R9 B' o
•Be eligible to work in Canada

Time Commitment5 j- N# D$ y4 Q, t4 V
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
