Going into the fight, many had Penn as the favorite to win over his younger competitior Diego Sanchez. This was for good reason. Penn came out the first round and was all over Sanchez. There was a lot of hype leading up to the UFC 107 Lightwieght championship bout betweetn BJ Penn and Diego Sanchez which premiered yesterday on Pay Per View. This hype was confirmed by the reported 13,896 people in attendance which brought in over $1.5 million at the gate. This number doesn't even factor in the amount of people who bought the fight to watch at home. All in all, it was a very hard fought battle by both of the competitors. Despite the complete domination right out of the gate, Diego "The Nightmare" Sanchez managed to cling on until the 5th round.
