Athabaskan Resource Company (Athabaskan) is a consulting firm providing engineering, surveying, project management, geomatics and mapping expertise from its base in the heart of the oil sands in Northeastern Alberta. Although a new company, Athabaskan has an impressive heritage resulting from its formation as a joint venture of the Fort McKay First Nation (FMFN) and Stewart Weir Group (SWG). Athabaskan is grounded in the belief that the First Nations are integral stakeholders in the development of natural resources.

* j: T* J. l+ F2 y* a  U6 IOverview of Role:
As a Civil Engineer/Technologist, you will be required to have a solid understanding of field applications coupled with data processing capabilities.  Knowledge of various software packages are required in order to perform data manipulation, quantities, basic design and quality control.

Position and Skill Requirements

1.        Completion of high school is required.
5 d4 V+ t8 W1 T% \' x$ I2.        Completion of a technologist program or B.Sc. in Civil Engineering
+ V: y0 }6 T! Z: ~0 `" A3.        Excellent attention to detail.
0 i* M  V- N2 q: k5 ]4.        Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
. n& {, H7 f& X5.        Must work well in a team environment.
6.        Must be efficient in organizing and handling numerical data.
6 {$ ?% l$ J3 \0 c& m# c7.        Strong knowledge of specific software including but not limited to:
5 {& W' W& \& {4 n- }% ea.        AutoCAD 2008
( @% L9 B/ V- X  [2 Ob.        Civil 3D
c.        Surfer
9 D0 @" {! |2 I9 k, Xd.        MS Office Suite (Work, Excel)
