Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:8 W5 {$ T9 W9 m% E3 F4 Q* u& Y
After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again. $ O' t1 ^) [1 u. @( s
It is a cycle.3 P2 Y3 `; I9 i) O# u- O

We isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.
$ a# W g% D5 [. KSwap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.
' b" |6 C2 F" N Q" n+ V* h7 PThe problem should be inside the bucket.& Z8 i3 D& ]8 `9 K+ R

When the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.* I" k ]& {: A0 ^1 a9 l% X& B
Use a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.
" ^' o5 x% ]. j/ W7 d% DConfirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same./ Y; B5 x0 c3 r

The next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.. j; ]4 K+ @. }, z/ ^, [
They have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again.
7 }# b" n7 J- S/ q# v! ~ It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working.
