provide supplemental support to newcomers who have complex needs.

- z6 _9 z" X9 t, Z" i Nature of Work: The Social Worker will report to the manager of mental health services. / Y+ L0 q+ z' W% g% `) [
The position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff,
/ B7 g- l. B! H) t' i1 ]1 pnewcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social
6 G+ p. e* a' A6 |( x1 N/ YWorker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as , D$ ~: e5 h# E% D$ u$ s& Y6 X& `: {2 i
needed. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for / e: K6 ~3 {0 n* V
newcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial
. W( D1 [; d; R2 E6 U$ y0 I# l" K, m6 Jassessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-& i9 j( p( I) C6 ?( k& _- s
centered delivery model. $ u" g# f8 @# _

Accesses comprehensive, up-to-date information about services and resources available

Providing holistic information or advocacy services for immigrants and refugees served.

4 y! v3 C+ k0 b i* l! O0 y$ M' P Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and : P5 A' ?9 ^, j) [
experience in Social Work or related human service fields.
- n- U/ [& N. P+ y! I8 K6 L Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family % Q/ c" E8 X( R; g7 z* z% y
support needs * K7 W w+ l2 e* f/ q
Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications
8 f, X! |4 R: G2 Q% U) W Proficiency in both official languages is an asset, as is fluency in other languages
