Primary purpose: The Social Worker works in partnership with settlement workers or 0 t) F2 X$ T9 A9 o) U
community cultural brokers from New Canadian Health Network partner organizations to

4 w' Q6 b [4 ?0 K8 Y1 c8 U Nature of Work: The Social Worker will report to the manager of mental health services.
+ L- h9 y- Q/ r% A \The position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff,
- P. J& A/ e$ z" G! ?9 u- \newcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social ' h) l6 c. w$ u" j( |( g- Y K0 Z
Worker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as
+ z3 x4 Z8 N# A6 A2 Oneeded. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for
( ~# }- ^( I2 vnewcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial
! B2 I( v, L- J$ {" n' o8 ~2 v6 h/ ~assessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-

Work in partnership with settlement workers or cultural brokers to provide supplemental

Qualification 3 U. m. c$ k' J
2 [8 t, L$ u2 v6 ~9 r2 O8 A+ f Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and 3 H: M0 ]2 R8 |0 |* U; M
experience in Social Work or related human service fields.
0 {, L* M( n6 ~6 W b* m& B Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family

% S$ l7 f q" Y: W/ n Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications
