Key Responsibilities & Duties:

8 o& c5 _1 p. r Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
$ v% w- c# v3 t9 [( [ Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
. o& `% R/ i/ W1 F5 O# Z1 C Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
9 Y  w, B7 o& I5 ?3 v" I, m Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
; @0 b0 A0 l* q3 ~ Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

* U& ~7 s+ e5 x8 u4 n- {- oQualifications:

7 j, P$ y6 E  j( [' ~0 N* { Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
& \) ?5 {1 c& V9 H4 n Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
( y: |: i4 F8 ~* q6 S+ ^# J7 } Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
$ q/ \! R6 i, Q) T; D! Y) ~ Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

# T8 G8 z6 B: F" w' pPosition:
3 k3 ?  s. z4 z+ sThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
) ~' [, [/ J! T4 _) @1 v, x* X) ^1 Ostarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
