Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  b% X" h% W# K Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
5 w: \+ F9 P* T1 b Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
$ {4 w) D, c0 Z7 [  C) O" O4 g/ S Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
% A8 V/ |. j, p, T2 f* ? Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
- O* O2 J, l* A9 ? Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
8 L$ R  j2 F4 ~ Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
' n1 e! M) g/ J" W' _% t Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

0 ^! J5 @; c7 `1 ? Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
, O2 l6 B* q- x1 k9 T, z Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
/ p' F2 p5 ^, d' \ Knowledge of community resources.
, J9 K1 [! r0 @. [3 C9 C* U0 i+ o& T1 u Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.
$ W& o* @4 D, u* F* |! l2 S
1 r9 R: m9 J4 \4 NPosition:
7 q: V" W8 j  K2 x9 JThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
There is a 3-month probationary period.
