Duties
$ i2 q2 S% g8 DDevelops and updates the graphic user interface including program interface (menus, dialogue boxes, file editing, etc.) using C++ or Java or other languages to allow users to compose run scripts and edit input files for a FORTRAN model w0 l1 g( n8 y' U1 ]8 W) t# H
Generates dynamic visualization of numerical output from the model using VTK or other visualization tools, linked to explanatory documents
/ J% D) U' y. v: i7 C/ N& SWorks with staff in the MACI to determine ways to deal with the data and find innovative approaches of presenting results
6 [" P6 W3 u) g: ~8 I8 B" uImplements interface and visualization on portable media (CD and website) for use in research and teaching; implements the mathematical model "ecosy" in parallel mode on computing facilities available
2 G# }! S$ R W1 W# U) `) wProvides technical support to teaching initiatives at undergraduate and postgraduate levels using the mathematical model with the graphic user interface) [4 R0 j( k$ ^0 b0 |9 X1 K& w, v# W

Qualifications

Related experience with interface development; interest in terrestrial ecology and global climate change an asset" ~+ d! f) |& K+ h
