YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.
! E. h) A8 R: ?Job Responsibilities:( x/ `7 d7 }7 B2 z D
$ V' c1 V' |& e7 Q' _& x, ^Payroll:
$ Q8 w L9 P6 K5 [• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
' v9 H& \$ R X" E• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll m5 h: x$ E( K/ M7 o H1 v' P
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
* x" {, L/ J) s! e4 R) w• Input benefit deductions into payroll1 S) g$ h. U) p3 h
% M- x9 B+ s& t, m, y# Z
Reporting duties:( w5 W/ V/ _* V
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
: ~+ M2 x, |9 H0 _• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
+ y6 P6 ?5 z" E3 d. ^4 g: f• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
! b) ]! `! ?3 n' S• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority, \( O U, n7 r$ p& P9 a
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
3 ~' F/ p: a* U; H4 Z5 y• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.4 U9 j* W$ @3 }) H- c! n
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
$ }% ^ z* O8 T4 G7 b2 |1 T8 Z7 a• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

Accounts Receivable:
' K9 @3 i# V6 `* {0 v• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
' c3 G4 J/ ?# |8 k. E3 A, S8 k6 W• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department; ~+ T1 z. v0 H0 U! J- I8 j5 n! A$ D2 ?
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments- l* g% }) N9 Q$ X; D
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

$ `. [& N- e$ Q• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
' K- r! l1 g: ?( t# C. V• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
4 a4 t _/ P; ^" W( @. }• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
. [8 H8 [. A4 N! u6 O; r9 z' K• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
1 U7 L/ A, o+ O• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work& T. f6 s9 L& H$ g% M$ k
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
( k% I" v8 u! b0 @! G! V) m• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
