Kids First Communication Services Inc. is a dynamic Edmonton-based organization providing services to children and their families with developmental and speech difficulties. As a critical component of our program team, our Child Intervention Therapist (C.I.T.) is responsible for the implementation of program strategies based on the client’s IPP. * G2 k7 d( n0 g" v+ V7 Z; W. m% z
* I$ Z! ]$ G; ~, Z3 DThe position of a Child Intervention Therapist (C.I.T.) involves working one on one with a child with special needs in their home and the community. C.I.T’s are required to plan, developmentally appropriate activities that target the goals that are outlined in the child’s Individualized Program Plan. C.I.T.’s may be required to create and adapt materials for intervention based on an established plan.

E7 J& s9 E0 O$ zThe Child Intervention Therapists work collaboratively with the family, an Occupational Therapist (OT), Physical Therapist (PT), Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), Behavioural Psychologist and Behaviour Consultant. C.I.T.’s maintain documentation on client progress including data sheets and development plan summaries. C.I.T.’s participate in quarterly client team meetings. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain an understanding of the therapeutic process, as well as gain exposure to PT, OT, SLP and Psyc disciplines.1 R5 C8 \; R m
