Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project* S9 h- S2 {; p. R7 N

Job Purpose:
' b8 K" s& s7 D4 \( s" ETo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. ' D! Z' O% |! N  ~% Y- {1 X; NThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding). l# p3 |1 b1 z5 k

6 J* U- L1 ~( A# U8 R& ~) t•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
# p% e) ~3 E+ a9 h# M5 `3 ^  Y•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;! ^! ?8 q0 ^7 d* g3 d, o! u
•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;( m9 |; a' t" p1 {- E" j
•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; : k* `4 ?3 t5 C2 |0 O. e
•        Risk Management and succession planning;
! x, l5 |/ _9 ~$ |; \' ~. L' ^! P9 V6 I' W, O" N8 U: J1 {
Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  ' q3 n% Y( q. v& d0 G! u0 G+ i
•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;! f) O) h+ u# J( M3 W" r; i
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
% B& n* {( z/ E& k•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
$ X# v- H; C: ?$ D# ~•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities- ?( \/ e9 u- p# @3 k. ?# J
•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
# b5 W8 u* H7 L) D# e/ i% N•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;! D* k0 s! @9 x* \5 g# X
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
3 r, Y; I/ g1 m/ q3 l•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

; P  \4 R# S( Y5 H( P9 [1 o•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
% ?! @! A" A/ x* V- f  A•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;7 N9 Y$ K8 o( w9 T6 X9 C
•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  + L9 K7 M' L* b+ S/ ^# \
•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
2 L2 s; v9 {* X) _+ r! k" H•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
) n$ n! q0 R6 E•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
; M7 `2 A7 b0 b, x1 Y5 M+ A; N•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;0 S0 G7 T) J' X6 h6 U2 Q
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
$ U' G2 \, q/ P•        Current valid drivers license;, v4 A/ Z: U, W# R8 A" \: E
•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;$ U4 D1 [0 E$ H: m- b5 u) p
•        Conflict resolution skills;
2 @5 X# B1 f. x" v•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;4 ]' G7 Z2 J9 b1 a
•        Committed and passionate about children;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
