. E+ B  o- j, c4 b5 fResponsibilities and Tasks

5 j1 g9 r* n% Y- Z3 b-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
$ e* X1 @' e. `$ z-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
4 |+ W- K  t# h$ P/ {( `-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
+ I; x7 @" x$ V. V& B5 Y5 f-        Select type and size of pipe required
9 L2 g& p/ N7 Z, b-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
0 Q9 ^  I4 ^  P6 d$ p  n/ ?-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
3 R/ g8 g3 u) ~- S-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
" e- }% u% ]1 C2 ?8 h; u, N: A( X  \/ ]-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
' N0 b/ {9 d0 D-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
8 X- W7 D6 M8 a$ D( g' v8 I/ h7 f-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

& P$ [3 W- z+ _# j4 z) J
  |$ j& y) ^2 Z" X9 G-        Completion of secondary school
-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- ^, g' H/ t6 J-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset

-        Valid driver’s license is an asset
